How much does MEDIATION cost?

The cost of mediation depends on your requirements and eligibility.

Often the mediation process will be completely FREE for you.


Legal Aid is available to fund Family Mediation across England when one Client is in receipt of Universal Credit, Income support, Income based ESA/JSA they will automatically qualify (subject to criteria checks). 


Clients on a low income may still be eligible subject to a means assessment.  


When one client qualifies for Legal Aid the other party will also get the MIAM and the first mediation joint appointment free of charge.

Meetings Costs

All of our services can be offered face-to-face or online.

Mediation and Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM)

£120 per person

A MIAM is essential to start the mediation process.

Mediation Meeting

£120 per person per hour

Following on from a MIAM, these meetings are where solutions and the arrangements for childcare and finances are explored.

Written Summary

£60

A written Summary is prepared by the mediator, recording the decisions you have made together. 

You have the opportunity to see a solicitor for legal advice before committing yourself to legal agreement or court order.


Mediation Forms and Papers

Required paperwork to confirm the terms of the mediation.

Open Financial Statement

£80 per person

The Open Financial Statement (OFS) which summarises the financial information that you have disclosed. 


It is a factual document regarding each party's financial information (eg bank accounts, pension values, credit card statements). 


It can be referred to in court or is used to support a Consent Order.

Memorandum of Understanding

£80 per person

This is a document that your family mediator will issue at the conclusion of your mediation. It is a summary of everything that you and your ex-partner agrees during mediation. It is an important document, as it can also be used by lawyers to draft financial or consent orders. 

Although not a legally binding document, it contains everything needed for a last agreement, because both parties have agreed to its content and agree to abide by the outcomes from the mediation.

Form C100

£60

You can apply for a court order to make arrangements for a child or resolve a dispute about their upbringing.

Form A1

£60

It is used to provide notice of your intention to proceed with an application for a financial remedy (other than a financial order) in the County Court or High Court.
